Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join our client’s established audit practice. You will lead audits from planning through to completion, assess internal controls, and deliver high-quality reports across diverse industries.

This hybrid role blends office collaboration with remote work, requires strong ISA/IFRS knowledge, and leadership of audit teams. A CA(SA), AGA(SA), or ACCA qualification is highly desirable, with at least four years of external audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Auditing.
• Articles completed and professional qualification such as CA(SA), AGA(SA), or ACCA desirable.
• Minimum 4 years of external auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISAs, IFRS and SA corporate legislation.
• Proven ability to lead audit engagements and manage teams.
• Solid understanding of internal controls and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise financial audits in accordance with ISAs.
• Assess internal control systems and identify areas for improvement.
• Perform risk assessments to determine the scope and nature of audit procedures.
• Gather and analyze audit evidence with proper documentation.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings and recommendations.
• Communicate audit progress and findings with clients.
• Supervise and mentor junior audit staff.
• Ensure compliance with professional ethics and firm policies.
• Stay updated on auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to business development.
