Placements24 is seeking a Senior Architect to lead industrial and commercial building projects from Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will oversee design teams, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and ensure delivery meets safety and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate has a professional architecture degree, 10–12 years of experience, strong BIM skills (Revit, AutoCAD), SACAP registration, and a track record in large-scale industrial schemes.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• 10–12 years of architectural experience, with a strong specialization in industrial and commercial building design.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale industrial projects from concept to completion.
• Expertise in architectural design software, BIM proficiency (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
• In-depth knowledge of industrial building systems, materials, and construction methodologies.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations pertaining to industrial facilities.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Experience in the Gauteng industrial sector is highly desirable.
• Professional registration with SACAP (PrArch) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and project delivery for industrial and commercial building projects.
• Manage design teams, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Engage with industrial clients to understand operational requirements, safety standards, and regulatory compliance needs.
• Develop innovative and functional design solutions for manufacturing facilities, processing plants, distribution centres, and office buildings.
• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant building codes, environmental regulations, and industrial safety standards specific to Vereeniging and Gauteng.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed construction drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and conceptual design work for new industrial developments.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to secure necessary approvals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architectural staff.
