Placements24 is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to lead pharmaceutical analysis in Benoni. You will develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for drug substances and finished products, using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, and MS to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, 5+ years in pharma analytics, strong GMP knowledge, and proven leadership to mentor junior chemists while maintaining rigorous documentation and data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of analytical chemistry experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR and MS.
• Proven ability to develop and validate analytical methods per ICH.
• Strong GMP knowledge and quality-control principles.
• Excellent documentation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for drug substances and products.
• Perform routine testing of materials and finished products.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments with proper calibration.
• Interpret data, troubleshoot methods, and document results.
• Mentor junior chemists and contribute to lab improvements.
