Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead the Analytical Development team in Randburg. The role focuses on developing, validating, and implementing robust analytical methods for new chemical entities and pharmaceutical products, with emphasis on method transfer and data integrity.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in analytical method development within pharma, with expertise in HPLC, GC, MS, spectroscopy, and LIMS, and strong leadership and communication skills to guide a talented team.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of analytical method development and validation experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Expertise in chromatography (HPLC, GC) and spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR, MS).

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for small molecules and biologics using HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Perform impurity profiling, stability testing, and release testing for drug substances and products.
• Troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Oversee the transfer of analytical methods to quality control or contract manufacturing organizations.
• Author and review method validation reports, technical summaries, and regulatory filings.
• Mentor and guide junior scientists within the analytical development group.
