Placements24 is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist for its pharmaceutical R&D laboratory in Rustenburg. You will develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for APIs and finished products, ensuring quality throughout the development lifecycle.

The role requires a MSc or PhD in Analytical or Pharmaceutical Chemistry and at least 6 years of pharma analytical experience. Proficiency with HPLC, GC, MS, UV-Vis, and FTIR is essential.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
• Minimum 6 years of pharmaceutical analytical chemistry experience.
• Hands-on expertise with analytical techniques and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods using HPLC, GC, MS, UV-Vis, and FTIR.
• Perform routine testing and characterization of raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products.
• Investigate and resolve analytical method deviations and OOS results.
• Write detailed method validation reports, analytical test procedures, and stability study protocols.
• Troubleshoot and maintain analytical instrumentation to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with formulation scientists and process development teams to support product development efforts.
