Job summary

Placements24 in Welkom is seeking a Senior Research Scientist in analytical chemistry to lead method development, validation, and analytical support for diverse projects. You will operate and maintain state-of-the-art instruments, interpret data, and ensure accurate results that meet quality standards.

You will collaborate with R&D teams, contribute to SOPs and reports, and drive improvements in analytical workflows within a challenging laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• PhD required in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in analytical method development and validation.
• Expertise with chromatography (HPLC, GC) and MS techniques.
• Experience with UV-Vis, IR, or NMR spectroscopy is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods using HPLC, GC-MS, and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis with strict QC standards.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical instruments.
• Interpret complex analytical data and troubleshoot instrument issues.
• Collaborate with R&D to support new product development and process improvements.
• Contribute to SOPs and technical reports.
