Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to lead the analytical services in Vereeniging. You will develop, validate, and implement analytical methods, manage laboratory operations, and provide critical data to support R&D and quality control.

Ideal candidates possess a Master's or PhD in Analytical or related fields with 7+ years of experience and hands-on expertise in HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, and titration, along with strong GLP knowledge and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in analytical chemistry, preferably in regulated industry.
• Extensive hands-on experience with HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR and titration.
• Strong GLP understanding and regulatory guidelines.
• Proficient data analysis and statistical evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for materials and finished products.
• Lead routine and advanced chemical analyses with accuracy and compliance.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and resolve method issues.
• Oversee lab inventory, calibrations and reagent management.
• Prepare analytical reports and support other departments.
• Mentor and train junior chemists and technicians.
