Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join their quality control and research department in Welkom. You will develop, validate, and implement analytical methods to ensure the purity, potency, and stability of chemical compounds and finished products, contributing to robust data integrity and regulatory compliance.

The candidate holds an MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, with at least 5 years hands-on experience, and expertise in HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, plus

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry, preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
• Expertise in operating and maintaining analytical instruments like HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, and FTIR.
• Strong knowledge of method validation principles and regulatory requirements (ICH).
• Excellent data interpretation skills and proficiency with analytical data software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and execute analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, and FTIR.
• Perform routine quality control testing and stability studies according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Investigate and troubleshoot analytical testing issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Calibrate and maintain analytical instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
• Prepare detailed analytical reports, certificates of analysis, and method validation documentation.
• Collaborate with R&D and production teams to support product development and process improvements.
