Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to oversee quality control operations in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting. You will develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, KF), lead a team of chemists, and ensure regulatory compliance and product integrity on-site.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, 5+ years of pharma experience, and strong expertise with ELNs and instrument calibration.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Extensive hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, and other relevant analytical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Perform routine testing and interpret results to meet specifications.
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and implement CAPAs.
• Lead and mentor junior analytical chemists, providing technical guidance and training.
• Ensure GMP, ICH, and pharmacopoeial compliance and maintain documentation.
