Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior AI Ethics Specialist to lead responsible AI initiatives. This fully remote role, conceptually anchored to Klerksdorp, focuses on developing frameworks, conducting assessments, and guiding product and engineering teams to mitigate bias and promote transparency.

You will collaborate with researchers and managers, provide training on FAccT, and engage with regulators to uphold integrity and accountability in AI.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science with an ethics focus, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, or related fields.
• Deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning concepts, and their societal implications.
• Experience in developing ethical frameworks, conducting impact assessments, and mitigating AI bias.
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex ethical dilemmas and influence decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics guidelines, policies, and frameworks.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and bias audits for AI models and systems.
• Collaborate with AI researchers, engineers, and product managers to integrate ethical considerations into the AI development lifecycle.
• Provide expert advice and training on AI ethics, fairness, accountability, and transparency (FAccT).
• Engage with external stakeholders, regulators, and the wider AI ethics community.
• Monitor emerging ethical challenges and recommend proactive solutions.
