Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Agricultural Sales Representative for the Sandton, Gauteng region. You will drive sales growth, expand market share, and build strong relationships with farmers, cooperatives and agribusinesses, delivering product solutions across crop inputs and equipment.

You should bring 5–7 years in agricultural sales, deep crop science knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and willingness to travel extensively within the area. A valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field.
• 5–7 years of sales experience in the agricultural sector.
• Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of crop production, soil science, and pest/disease management.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve company sales objectives within the assigned territory.
• Identifying and prospecting new clients, building and maintaining strong long‑term relationships with existing customers.
• Promoting and selling a range of agricultural products, including crop protection chemicals, fertilizers, seeds, and equipment.
• Providing technical expertise and product recommendations to farmers and agricultural professionals.
• Conducting product demonstrations, field visits, and presentations to showcase product benefits.
• Negotiating sales contracts, terms, and pricing to close deals effectively.
• Monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities.
• Managing sales expenses and reporting on sales activities, performance, and customer interactions.
• Collaborating with the marketing and technical support teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Achieving and exceeding individual and team sales targets on a regular basis.
• Providing feedback to management on market needs and product development opportunities.
