Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking an experienced Aftermarket Engineer in South Africa to provide engineering and design support to internal and external clients. The role focuses on ensuring reliable equipment performance and serviceability in the aftermarket.

You will lead investigations, develop repair procedures, and mentor junior engineers while applying power plant process knowledge to ensure alignment with design intent.

Qualifications

• BSc or BEng in mechanical engineering is required.
• Experience with heavy engineering workshops is essential.
• Ability to perform vibration-related analyses and testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Service, Spares and Manufacturing departments.
• Carry out engineering tasks and investigations to support aftermarket efforts.
• Lead major investigations and projects from an engineering perspective.
• Undertake new equipment selections and designs per user specifications.
• Assess equipment condition and generate repair procedures and reports.
• Check and approve designs, procedures and drawings for production.
• Develop engineering solutions for internal and external clients.
• Develop external client relationships and promote product range.
• Mentor less experienced staff and monitor workload distribution.
• Provide power plant process knowledge aligned with design intents.
• Develop and revise engineering department documentation.
