Placements24 is seeking a Senior Radio Network Engineer for our client in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will lead the design, optimization, and performance management of our RAN for 4G and 5G, ensuring coverage, capacity, and quality align with customer expectations.

You will conduct RF planning, site surveys, and troubleshoot complex network issues, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with vendors and field operations to implement upgrades and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years in mobile radio network engineering.
• Experience with 4G LTE and 5G NR RAN architecture.
• Proficiency with RF planning tools (Atoll, Planet).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and optimize RAN for 4G/LTE and 5G technologies.
• Conduct site surveys, analyze propagation data, and plan coverage and capacity.
• Troubleshoot RF performance issues and improve user experience.
• Monitor network performance metrics and apply tuning strategies.
• Collaborate with field operations during deployment and commissioning.
• Evaluate new radio technologies and propose upgrades.
• Develop and maintain network documentation and guidelines.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
• Participate in vendor evaluations for equipment.
• Provide technical leadership to junior engineers.
