Job summary

PTY is seeking a Senior Technical Scrum Master in Centurion for a 12-month contract with hybrid work (2–3 days in the office). The role requires deep technical delivery knowledge, guiding platform engineering, architecture and infrastructure teams to keep complex programmes on track.

You will lead ceremonies, remove blockers, manage dependencies, and drive delivery across APIs, digital platforms and enterprise foundations while coaching teams in Agile practices.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years' experience as a Scrum Master or Agile practitioner in complex technology environments.
• Strong understanding of software development and technical delivery.
• Experience with platform engineering, infrastructure, enterprise architecture or systems integration.
• Ability to manage dependencies, remove blockers and align multiple teams.
• Experience with developers, architects, vendors and stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence and modern software delivery tools (Git, CI/CD).
• Excellent facilitation, communication, problem-solving and Agile coaching skills.

Rate: R600–R730 per hour

Do you understand the technology behind the delivery?

We're looking for a Senior Technical Scrum Master to join an Ecosystem Modernisation Programme within a complex enterprise technology environment. This isn't just about running stand-ups and updating Jira. We need someone who understands software delivery, can work confidently with technical teams, and knows how to keep complex delivery moving when dependencies, risks and technical challenges get in the way.

What you'll be doing

Requirements

What you need to bring

These are the key requirements:

5–8+ years' experience as a Scrum Master or Agile practitioner in complex technology environments.

A strong understanding of software development and technical delivery — you need to understand what the engineering teams are delivering, not just facilitate their meetings.

Experience working with platform engineering, infrastructure, enterprise architecture or systems integration teams .

A proven ability to manage technical dependencies, remove blockers and keep multiple teams moving towards shared delivery goals.

Experience working with developers, architects, technical specialists and other delivery stakeholders.

Practical experience with Jira, Confluence and modern software delivery environments, ideally including Git-based tooling and CI/CD.

Strong facilitation, communication, problem-solving and Agile coaching skills.

What will give you an advantage?

Experience in financial services, banking, insurance, employee benefits or retirement administration, particularly within a large enterprise environment. Scrum or Agile certifications are also beneficial.

Contract: 12-month initial contract

Location: Centurion

Working arrangement: Hybrid, with 2–3 days in the office

Rate: R600–R730 per hour, depending on experience
