Job summary

Indsafri is seeking an experienced Scrum Master in Johannesburg to coach Agile teams and Product Owners, driving value through collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement. You will champion practical tools, automation and AI-enabled ways of working.

You will guide teams to improve delivery, manage dependencies, and promote Lean-Agile leadership while partnering with stakeholders in a complex digital transformation.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• Certification such as CSM, PSM, SSM (SAFe Scrum Master) or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.
• Proven experience leading Agile teams in complex digital transformation environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and Lean-Agile principles.
• Experience with distributed, hybrid and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Jira, Microsoft 365, Teams, Miro, Lucidchart or similar tools.
• Technical understanding of the software development lifecycle, APIs, integrations and modern engineering practices.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all Agile ceremonies: Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Backlog Refinement, Retrospectives and PI Planning.
• Coach the Product Owner, Business Analyst, Architects and delivery teams on backlog management, prioritisation and readiness.
• Improve planning, flow and visibility of delivery risks and dependencies.
• Track delivery metrics to improve predictability, quality and team effectiveness.
• Remove impediments and escalat organisational blockers when needed.
• Coordinate inter-team dependencies and represent the team in Scrum of Scrums and ART activities.
• Help teams become self-managing, solution-oriented and focused on sprint goals and PI Objectives.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and promote transparency on progress, capacity and risks.
• Lead with Lean- Agile and servant leadership principles.
