Job summary

University of the Free State is seeking an Officer (post level 11) in Finance - Supply Chain Management. The role focuses on monitoring and recording SCM contracts, liaising with contract owners, and ensuring compliance with standards.

It requires a diploma in SCM or accounting and at least two years’ related experience, preferably in higher education. The position offers a permanent contract, with engagements across procurement, legal, and tenders teams, plus a range of fringe benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma on NQF Level 6 in Supply Chain Management, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in SCM, Vendor or Contract Administration/Management.
• Preference for candidates with experience in a Higher Education institution.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate Supply Chain Management contracts.
• Record SCM contracts emanating from a tender or sealed quote.
• Follow up on signed SLA’s/addendums/extensions for tenders or procurement.
• Coordinate with Legal, Procurement and Tenders teams on contract compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Register contracts on the Contract and Commodities Contract register in Excel.
• Ensure compliance with UFS standards and norms and terms and conditions.
