Job summary

Top Talent PS is seeking a Sales Representative to develop and maintain customer relationships, generate sales and process quotations. Regular customer visits are required, including long-distance travel to neighbouring provinces, coordinating with internal teams for order fulfilment.

You will negotiate effectively, prepare accurate quotations, and manage orders while maintaining market-related pricing and comprehensive sales records.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years external sales experience is required.
• Experience in the cable industry is preferred.
• Experience in calling customers, quoting, order processing and account management.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across provinces.

Job Description

The Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, generating sales, processing customer orders and quotations and ensuring customers receive competitive market-related pricing. The role requires regular external customer visits, including long-distance travel to neighbouring provinces, and close coordination with internal departments to fulfil standard and special-order requirements. The Sales Representative also supports administrative, stock control and delivery-related activities as required.

Responsibilities

• Calls on existing and prospective customers in accordance with a predetermined visiting schedule.
• Travels long distances to visit customers in Gauteng and neighbouring provinces.
• Builds and maintains professional customer relationships to support sales growth and customer retention.
• Prepares accurate quotations and communicates pricing, product availability and order requirements to customers.
• Ensures customers receive market-related prices in accordance with company pricing policies.
• Processes customer orders accurately and timeously within the relevant business systems.
• Liaises with the Factory Planner regarding special customer orders, production requirements and delivery expectations.
• Delivers customer documentation, including invoices, credit notes and related records, when required.
• Assists with monthly stock-taking activities and supports accurate inventory control.
• Assists the Dispatch department with deliveries when operationally required.
• Maintains complete and accurate sales records, customer information and visit reports.
• Communicates customer requirements, market feedback and sales opportunities to relevant internal stakeholders.

Qualifications Required

• Grade 12 matric qualification.
• A valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
• Relevant tertiary education in sales, business, marketing or a related field will be advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and the Syspro system is essential.

Experience

• A minimum of three years’ external sales experience is required.
• Experience within the cable industry is preferred.
• Experience in customer calling, quotation preparation, order processing and account management is required.
• Experience travelling to customer sites and managing a geographically dispersed customer base is advantageous.
• Experience working with stock take processes, dispatch activities and internal operational teams is beneficial.
