Qualifications

• A completed Grade 12 qualification is essential.
• A tertiary qualification in sales and marketing will be a great advantage.
• Proven sales experience in the FMCG trade is essential, and poultry industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish strong relationships with Wholesale, Independent and Catering Customers.
• Professionally respond to all inbound sales enquiries.
• Interact with Liaison Manager for new business opportunities.
• Handle sales administration and reporting.
• Promote and grow the County Fair brands and range with customers.
• Negotiate products and prices with existing and new clients.
• Work toward a healthy on-shelf display and shelf space optimization.
• Maintain and grow the customer base through new opportunities.
• Plan and attend trade shows and exhibitions as required.
• Manage assigned territory and regular visits.
• Provide market intelligence to improve competitive advantage.
• Ensure timely stock movement and communicate out-of-stocks to customers.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and professionally.

Astral, a leading South African integrated poultry producer has a position of Sales Representative in the Wholesale trade available at County Fair, Epping Cape Town.

The purpose of the Wholesale Representative role is to maximize sales opportunities for all wholesale accounts and to drive effective sales strategies in line with the objectives of the business.

Qualifications And Experience Required

• A completed Grade 12 qualification is essential.
• A tertiary qualification in sales and marketing will be a great advantage.
• Proven sales experience in the FMCG trade is essential, and experience in the poultry industry will be an added advantage.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Responsible For

• Establishing strong relationships with all Wholesale, Independent and Catering Customers
• Professionally respond to all inbound sales enquiries.
• Interaction with Liaison Manager for new business opportunities.
• Sales administration
• Promoting and growing the county fair brands and range with new and existing customers.
• Interacting and negotiating products and prices with our existing and new clients.
• Work towards a healthy on-shelf display of all our products across all categories.
• Maintaining and grow your customer base by looking for new business opportunities.
• Plan, manage, coordinate and attend trade shows and exhibitions as required
• Manage assigned territory.
• Gather and communicate Market Intelligence/Adverts to improve our competitive advantage.
• Keep control and maximize shelf space, and on-shelf availability (OSA) of all County Fair products and do quality checks.
• Complete weekly Wholesale/ Independent price surveys
• Ensure good time management and regular customer visits/calls.
• Daily focus on stock sheet for stock movement.
• Daily handling of customer complaints.
• Maintaining good customer service and business relationships with all customers.
• Servicing internal and external customers effectively.
• Communicating out of stocks to customers.
• Recording and communication of store fridge breakdowns, chillers and freezer temperature deviations.
• Returns management according to the Company's return policy.
• Accountable to drive daily targets set out by the business, either to meet or exceed targets.
• Ensure daily KPIs are met

Other Requirements

• Must have a reliable vehicle with a valid code 8 driver's license.
• Computer literacy at an intermediate to advanced level in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint.
• Able to do reporting in MS Excel using pivot tables.
• Well spoken in the English and Afrikaans languages, well versed in another official language is a great advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong customer relations.
• Deadline driven, able to multi-task and have strong attention to detail and administration skills.
• An understanding of the 20-Keys concept will be a great advantage.
• Be a self-starter and able to work independently, yet effective in a team environment.

Other Features Of The Job

• Due to the nature of the job, additional working hours will be required from time to time, which may necessitate working into the evening, public holidays, or on weekends. You may also be required to travel from time to time.
