Job summary

FM Staff is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer/Technical Sales Representative to cover Johannesburg and surrounding areas. This permanent role requires field-based work, a passion for selling and building face-to-face relationships with clients in industrial, automation, IT, or LV/MV cabling sectors.

Open start date; salary negotiable; urgent role with priority to qualified applicants who meet the minimum requirements and reside in the region.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of effective experience in Technical External Sales (non-negotiable).
• External technical sales experience with cabling, connectors and conduits in industrial, automation or IT sectors will be highly beneficial.
• Residence in the Johannesburg region or immediate surrounds is required.
• South African citizen with no criminal record.
• Own vehicle and valid SA driver’s license for field work.

Job description

Minimum 'must Have' Requirements

• At least 5 years effective experience in Technical External Sales (non-negotiable).
• External Technical Sales specifically with cabling, connectors and conduits in either industrial, automation or IT will be highly beneficial, or an industry highly aligned with LV or MV cabling and connections.
• Either a N6 in Electrical Engineering, or a Red Seal (Trade Certificate) as a Instrumentation Technician or Millwright.
• South African Citizen.
• No criminal record.
• Own vehicle to commute to work and back home, with a valid South African drivers license.
• Have a passion for selling, not for account management - must enjoy being out in the field and building face-to-face professional relationships.
