Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to oversee health and safety on construction sites in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will develop and implement safety programs, train site personnel, and maintain records to prevent incidents and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.

The role requires vigilance, knowledge of OHS regulations, and strong communication to foster a safety-first culture across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• A recognized qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., SAMTRAC, NEBOSH).
• Proven experience as a Safety Officer in construction.
• Knowledge of OHS Act and construction safety regulations.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety training.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• First Aid certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
