Job summary

Clicks Group in Johannesburg is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for the Rand Steam store. You will support the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering service excellence, and building customer loyalty to meet targets and uphold brand standards.

You will oversee daily store operations, people and schedule management, stock and visual merchandising, and admin responsibilities, ensuring promotional activities are executed and the store presents the brand image consistently.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)
• Desirable: Degree in Relevant Retail/Business Management
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an assistant store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment or successful completion the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme
• Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the store and service excellence by driving sales and building customer loyalty to meet targets and brand standards.
• Drive and maximise sales through execution of promotions and cross-selling, upselling, and delivering superior customer service across the store team.
• Execute in-store visual merchandising and ensure store presentation aligns with brand image.
• Motivate and direct staff to achieve targets and performance goals, including coverage when the Store Manager is absent.
• Maintain daily work schedules in line with labour policy to ensure all departments are appropriately staffed.
• Deliver excellent customer service initiatives to enhance customer experience and club card participation.
• Attend to administrative responsibilities efficiently, including weekly time and attendance and employee records submitted to HR.
