Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Canal Walk Mall, Century City store invites applications for a Retail Store Assistant to support store management and ensure operations align with company policy and procedures. The role focuses on customer service, cash handling, stock control, and daily administrative tasks to maintain efficient store operations and accurate records.

The ideal candidate will have Grade 12, basic computer skills, and retail experience, with a commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel and Outlook). SAP.
• Retail experience.
• Grade 12 / Matric required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and report all customer compliments and complaints to management.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers.
• Ensure all customer stock queries are dealt with and resolved.
• Maintain effective external communication with customers when they require feedback.
• Assist customers with enquiries and refer customers to appropriate departments.
• Adhere to the customer turnover per hour rate as per company benchmark.
• Manage shorts and overs at the point of sale, including the floats.
• Manage refund and return transactions.
• Verify and review deliveries and invoices for total accuracy.
• Assist the Receiving Manager in preparing and logging Distribution Centre claims on the Distribution Centre claims system.
• Manage and control high risk stock.
• Prepare the run reconciliation on a daily basis.
• Prepare, order and receive branch change requirements to ensure cashiers have enough change.
• Maintain effective liaison between relevant parties.
• Maintain effective document control including float, petty cash, cash on hand.
