Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies' Greenfields store is seeking a Retail Store Assistant to support overall store management and ensure operations and admin duties align with policy. This role emphasizes customer service, cash handling, stock control and efficient communication with departments.

The position requires Grade 12, basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SAP, plus retail experience. Market related salary, medical aid, provident fund and staff account benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel and Outlook). SAP.
• Retail experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and report all customer complements and complaints to management.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers.
• Ensure all customer stock queries are dealt with and resolved.
• Maintain effective external communication with customers when they require feedback.
• Assist customers with enquiries and refer to appropriate departments.
• Adhere to the customer turnover per hour rate as per company benchmark.
• Manage shorts and overs at the point of sale, including floats.
• Manage refund and return transactions.
• Ensure back shopping and returned goods are handled correctly.
• Verify and review deliveries and invoices for total accuracy.
• Assist Receiving Manager in preparing and logging DC claims.
• Manage and control high risk stock.
• Prepare the run reconciliation daily.
• Prepare, order and receive branch change requirements to ensure cashiers have enough change.
• Maintain liaison between relevant parties.
• Maintain document control including float, petty cash, cash on hand.
