Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Loss Prevention Officer for a Paarl-based retail role. You will implement preventative measures, monitor surveillance, and lead investigations to protect assets and ensure customer safety.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in the field, strong integrity, and the ability to work under pressure while communicating effectively with staff and local law enforcement. The position is onsite in Paarl with opportunities to advance in security operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in loss prevention or security in retail.
• Knowledge of theft detection techniques and surveillance.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and act with discretion.
• Physically fit for standing or patrolling.
• Residency in or ability to commute to Paarl, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Implement loss prevention policies to minimize shrinkage.
• Conduct overt and covert surveillance to detect theft and fraud.
• Investigate suspicious activities and document findings.
• Apprehend shoplifters in line with policy and law.
• Conduct regular store audits to identify vulnerabilities.
• Educate staff on loss prevention practices.
• Maintain CCTV and alarm systems and collaborate with law enforcement when needed.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommendations.
• Promote security awareness across store operations in Paarl.
