Qualifications

• Experience in loss prevention, security, or law enforcement is desirable.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of retail security procedures and loss prevention techniques.
• Ability to handle conflict and make sound judgments under pressure.
• Good written and verbal communication for reports and interviews.
• Physical fitness to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Knowledge of SA laws on apprehension and detention.
• Ability to operate CCTV and security systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveillance and investigations to detect and prevent internal and external theft.
• Monitor store activities and identify suspicious behavior.
• Apprehend individuals suspected of shoplifting or other retail crimes, following policy and law.
• Conduct interviews with employees and customers regarding theft incidents.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of investigations.
• Implement and enforce loss prevention policies and procedures across the store.
• Conduct regular store audits to identify security vulnerabilities and improvements.
• Monitor CCTV systems and alarm activations.
• Collaborate with store management and law enforcement when necessary.
• Promote a culture of awareness regarding loss prevention among staff.
