Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Loss Prevention Officer for a prominent retail store in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role focuses on minimizing shrinkage, preventing theft, and ensuring a safe customer and staff environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring activities, investigating incidents, reviewing CCTV footage, and enforcing loss prevention policies. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in loss prevention, security, or related field within a retail environment.
• Strong understanding of theft detection methods, investigative procedures, and relevant laws.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store activities to detect and prevent theft, fraud, and other illicit activities.
• Observe customer and employee behaviour for suspicious patterns and intervene appropriately.
• Conduct investigations into suspected incidents of theft or policy violations.
• Work with store management and law enforcement when necessary to address security issues.
• Review surveillance footage (CCTV) to identify potential loss incidents and gather evidence.
• Implement and enforce store policies and procedures related to loss prevention.
• Conduct regular store audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
• Promote a culture of awareness and prevention among store staff.
• Respond to security alarms and emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all incidents, investigations, and actions taken.
