Job summary

Clicks Group in Cape Town is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (Top) to support the Store Manager in delivering service excellence and sales growth. You will lead a store team, execute promotions, ensure stock accuracy and maintain brand standards to create a competitive customer experience.

The role requires 2+ years in a retail/FMCG assistant management position, Grade 12, and ideally a Retail/Business Management degree. You will report to the Store Manager and work in a permanent capacity.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 with Maths 50% and English 50%.
• Desirable: Degree in Retail/Business Management.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in assistant store management in retail/FMCG.
• Financial management experience (budgets, P&L, financial ratios).

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager to drive sales and loyalty, meeting targets.
• Execute store operations, expenses, stock, shrinkage and admin.
• Lead in-store visual merchandising and brand presentation.
• Motivate and direct staff, cover in manager's absence.
• Manage daily staff scheduling aligned to labour policy.
• Deliver excellent customer service and club card targets.
• Handle weekly time/attendance and HR records.
