Job summary

Cashbuild is seeking an Assistant Manager (External Applications Only) to protect and grow profitable market share within a store. The role requires Grade 12, strong accounting, HR and leadership skills, plus a valid driver’s license and own transport.

You will assist the Store Manager with business planning, customer service excellence, stock and asset control, and HR duties. The position demands resilience, the ability to work under pressure, and compliance with OHSA standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with at least 2 years retail management experience.
• Valid driver’s license and local work eligibility.
• Strong accounting, leadership and administrative capabilities.
• Computer literacy and ability to work under pressure.
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety (OHSA) and HR processes.
• Own transport and cellphone required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager to develop and implement a Store Business Plan aligned with company strategy.
• Grow and protect market share; support sales budgets and category growth.
• Support customer service initiatives and maintain high customer audit scores (>95%).
• Assist with stock control, cash handling, and asset management.
• Lead HR activities including recruitment, induction, and staff development.
• Ensure OHSA compliance and safe store operations.
