Job summary

Rosebank College in Durban seeks an experienced lecturer to teach and deliver modules in information systems and information technology, with emphasis on research methods and design. You will engage students, update LMS, and assist in assessments and academic results analysis.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (NQF 9) in information systems/computer science or information technology with a research methodology component and a research dissertation/project.
• Honours Degree at NQF 8 plus a master's degree in a related field with a research component as part of the NQF 9 qualification.
• Lecturing/tutoring experience in research methods and related methodologies is preferred.
• Work experience as a researcher/lecturer at postgraduate level and supervising postgraduate students is advantageous.
• Experience with qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method and/or design science research is required.
• Copy of academic transcript is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and engage students based on module requirements.
• Manage resources including academic materials and consultations with the Information Centre.
• Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.
• Assist in assessments and track student progress with Central Academic Team guidance.
• Monitor student engagement and assessment submissions with escalation as needed.
• Attend academic meetings across faculties and contribute to module results analysis.
• Support monitoring of at-risk students in allocated modules.
• Complete required academic professional development interventions per cycle.
