Job summary

RWS is seeking AI Conversation Recording Contributors for a Xhosa speech data collection project. This freelance, work-from-home role offers flexible, task-based work (2–4 hours daily) with immediate start and payment on a per-hour basis.

You will record natural speech, annotate data, and provide metadata to help evaluate and improve AI language models. Quiet workspace and reliable internet are required.

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Xhosa.
• Advanced level of English to understand written instructions.
• Experience with speech recording or data annotation projects is an advantage, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail when providing annotations and recording metadata.
• Ability to follow detailed project and recording instructions.

Responsibilities

• Record natural, spontaneous speech according to project guidelines.
• Capture sessions from real-life situations such as workplace conversations.
• Complete conversational tasks or interactions with AI or machine systems.
• Annotate speech data per provided instructions.
• Provide required metadata for each recording.
