Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Claims Assessor for travel insurance. The role is fully remote and based in South Africa, requiring 2–4 years of travel insurance claims experience.

You will investigate, validate, and process claims while guiding claimants through the process and ensuring satisfaction. You will liaise with policyholders, providers, and agents, applying policy terms and exclusions to determine fair settlements.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required; additional insurance studies are a plus.
• 2–4 years experience in claims assessment or administration in travel insurance.
• Strong understanding of travel policy terms, conditions and exclusions.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review and validate travel insurance claims with required documentation.
• Investigate details: coverage, incident context and supporting evidence.
• Communicate with claimants, medical providers, travel agents, and others to gather info.
• Assess claim validity and make fair settlement decisions.
• Process approved claims for payment and maintain records in the system.
• Identify potentially fraudulent claims and escalate as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service and guidance through the process.
• Stay updated on travel trends and insurance regulations.
