Placements24 is seeking a Remote Telecoms Field Technician to support network infrastructure across multiple locations, primarily coordinating remotely while traveling to client sites as needed in the George region.

You will diagnose and repair telecom equipment, document findings, and work with a remote support team. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel are required; a company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Technician or similar telecom support role.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, including fiber optics, DSL, and wireless technologies.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and hand tools for installation/repair.
• Ability to work independently and travel frequently.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of telecommunications equipment at client sites.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to network connectivity and service delivery.
• Conduct site surveys and plan network upgrades or new installations.
• Document service calls, findings, and resolutions in the CRM system.
• Communicate with remote support team and customers for timely updates and support.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Telecoms Field Technician to provide essential on-site support for their network infrastructure across various locations, while primarily managing operations remotely. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues at customer premises, ensuring the smooth operation of telecommunication services. While the role is remote-first in terms of coordination and reporting, it requires frequent travel to client sites in and around the George region. You will be instrumental in maintaining customer satisfaction by delivering prompt and effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of telecommunications equipment at client sites.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to network connectivity and service delivery.
