Placements24 in George is seeking a Junior Telecom Field Technician to install, maintain and repair telecom equipment at customer sites. You will work under supervision, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to reliable service delivery across the region.

You should have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic knowledge of telephony and networks, a valid driver's license, and be physically able to handle equipment. On-the-job training and a company vehicle are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification is a plus.
• Some experience in a technical or field service role, preferably within telecommunications.
• Basic understanding of telephony systems, data networks, or fiber optics.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to lift moderately heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications hardware and software at customer premises.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network equipment and cabling.
• Respond to service calls to troubleshoot and repair faults in telecom systems.
• Ensure installations and repairs adhere to company standards and safety regulations.
• Document service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Assist senior technicians on more complex installations and network upgrades.
