About the Role

Our client, a national leader in telecommunications infrastructure, is seeking motivated Remote Telecommunications Field Technicians to join their fully remote team. While this is a remote position, you will be responsible for traveling to customer sites within your designated region to perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic networks, networking hardware, and customer premises equipment (CPE). The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills in telecommunications, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional on-site service. You will ensure reliable connectivity and high-quality service for our clients' customers across the region. This role requires self-discipline, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently while representing our company professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, fiber optic cables, and wireless access points at customer locations. Troubleshoot and diagnose connectivity issues, signal degradation, and hardware faults. Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on existing telecommunications infrastructure. Adhere to company safety protocols and industry best practices during site visits. Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and service orders. Provide clear and concise technical support and customer education on service usage. Maintain accurate records of all service calls, including work performed, parts used, and resolution status via mobile device. Manage a service vehicle inventory and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained. Respond to service escalations and emergency repair requests in a timely manner. Effectively manage your daily schedule and route for optimal efficiency.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician, Field Service Technician, or similar role. Strong understanding of fiber optic installation and testing procedures (e.g., OTDR, fusion splicing). Familiarity with networking protocols, Wi-Fi standards, and IP addressing. Ability to troubleshoot issues with various types of telecommunications hardware and software. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while traveling. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening. Must be able to travel extensively within your designated service area and be comfortable working remotely from home when not on-site.
