Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Systems Administrator to join the infrastructure team supporting telecom operations across multiple regions, including Nelspruit. The role focuses on maintaining server health, performance, and security, with responsibilities spanning deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical and virtual servers.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in systems administration, strong Linux/Windows expertise, hands-on virtualization experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in systems administration with focus on Linux and Windows environments.
• Proficiency in scripting, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud technologies.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and telecom infrastructure.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills; ability to work autonomously.

Responsabilités

• Administer, maintain, and enhance server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
• Implement and manage system backups, disaster recovery plans, and security protocols.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimise telecom systems.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
• Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for complex system issues.
