Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Field Support Engineer to provide on-site technical assistance and advanced troubleshooting for telecom network equipment across customer sites. The role combines field responsibility with remote coordination to ensure network reliability and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have at least 4 years in telecom field support, strong networking knowledge, and the ability to travel as needed. A buyer’s travel and company vehicle are included in the benefits package.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in field support or network engineering roles within the telecoms industry.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex telecommunications systems, including routers, switches, servers, and transmission equipment.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, wireless technologies, and fiber optics.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and techniques for network performance analysis.
Excellent problem-solving skills, customer-facing demeanor, and the ability to work independently and manage travel effectively.

Responsibilities

Provide expert on-site technical support for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications hardware and software.
Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including hardware failures, software glitches, and configuration problems.
Perform system upgrades, patches, and preventative maintenance on network equipment in the field.
Collaborate with remote support teams and engineering to resolve escalated issues.
Document all field activities, including troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and parts used, in the CRM system.
