Placements24 seeks an accomplished Subsurface Engineer to join a fully remote Oil & Gas team. You will analyze and optimize hydrocarbon recovery using advanced modeling, data analytics, and integrated subsurface approaches, supporting global operations from anywhere in South Africa.
The role emphasizes software-enabled economic evaluations, risk assessment, and close collaboration with dispersed geoscientists and engineers to maximize asset value.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or a related subsurface discipline.
- Proven expertise in reservoir simulation, data analytics, and integrated subsurface modeling.
- Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine subsurface models integrating geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
- Analyze reservoir performance data to optimize production and recovery strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and production optimization.
- Conduct economic evaluations of subsurface development projects and investment opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with remote teams of geoscientists, production engineers, and management.
- Perform risk assessments and uncertainty analysis for subsurface projects.
