Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Subsurface Geologist to join its fully remote exploration and production team. The role focuses on identifying hydrocarbon prospects, interpreting complex data, and contributing to exploration strategy in a flexible remote setting.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of oil and gas subsurface experience, advanced degrees in geology/geophysics, and strong skills in seismic interpretation and geological modeling using Petrel and DecisionSpace Geosciences.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or related earth science field.
• 10+ years of experience in geological exploration and subsurface interpretation, with a significant focus on oil and gas.
• Proficiency with geological modeling and interpretation software (Petrel, DecisionSpace Geosciences).
• Strong understanding of seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, and structural geology.

Responsibilities

• Analyze seismic data, well logs, core samples, and other geological information to identify potential exploration targets.
• Develop and refine 3D geological models for subsurface reservoirs.
• Perform basin analysis and regional studies to assess exploration potential and risks.
• Collaborate virtually with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and management to integrate geological interpretations into exploration and development plans.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for exploration opportunities.
• Stay abreast of the latest geological technologies and methodologies.
