Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Subsurface Geologist for a fully remote role, based in Centurion while enabling remote collaboration. The position focuses on integrating seismic, well log and core data to build robust subsurface models and guide prospect generation.

The candidate will lead data-driven interpretation, risk assessment and regional basin analyses, interacting with multidisciplinary teams to drive exploration success in the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences required.
• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in exploration geology within Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

• Integrate geological, geophysical and petrophysical data to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Develop and refine 3D subsurface geological models.
• Conduct seismic interpretation, fault and horizon mapping, and attribute analysis.
• Analyze well logs, core data and depositional environments.
• Perform prospect risk assessment and volumetric evaluations.
• Plan and execute geological field work and data acquisition.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists.
• Prepare technical reports, maps and presentation materials.
