Placements24 is seeking a Lead Subsurface Geoscientist for a fully remote role. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to interpret seismic, well data, core samples and other data, shaping exploration and development strategies across hydrocarbon provinces.

The position requires a strong background in seismic interpretation, petrophysics, and geological modeling. You will mentor teammates, advance innovative subsurface techniques, and present findings to senior management, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or related Earth Science.
• 10–12+ years of progressive subsurface geoscience experience in exploration and field development.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation (2D/3D), petrophysics, and geological modeling.
• Strong leadership and mentoring of multidisciplinary teams.
• Deep knowledge of petroleum systems, basin analysis, and structural geology.
• Proficiency in Petrel, Kingdom Suite and Hampson-Russell.

Responsibilities

• Lead interpretation and integration of seismic, well log, core, and other data to characterize reservoirs and identify exploration targets.
• Develop and refine subsurface models, including structural, stratigraphic, and petrophysical interpretations.
• Provide geological input for prospect generation, risking, and economic evaluation processes.
• Collaborate with reservoir, production, and drilling engineers to ensure a unified subsurface understanding.
• Oversee the quality control of geophysical and geological data acquisition and processing.
• Mentor and guide junior geoscientists, fostering technical excellence and promoting best practices.
• Develop and implement innovative techniques for subsurface characterization and uncertainty assessment.
• Present geological and geophysical findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in geoscience and subsurface imaging.
• Contribute to reserve and resource reporting and volumetrics.
