Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 7+ years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering, with industrial/mining exposure.
• Experience designing heavy industrial structures, plant layouts and foundations.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and strong material science knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to work autonomously in remote settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for steel and concrete structures (buildings, foundations, conveyors).
• Use structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS) for modeling and design.
• Conduct site inspections remotely or during travel; gather data for design.
• Develop detailed drawings, calculations and technical reports; review shop drawings.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, MHSA regulations and international codes; provide construction phase support.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers and other disciplines; stay updated on industry best practices.
