Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a focus on steel structures
• Pr.Eng. license is essential
• 9+ years of specialized experience in structural steel design
• In-depth knowledge of steel properties, behavior, and connection design principles
• Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer
• Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM technologies
• Thorough understanding of fabrication processes and erection sequencing
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely

Aufgaben

• Lead the structural design of steel structures for diverse projects
• Perform complex structural analyses and calculations for steel members and connections
• Prepare detailing drawings, specifications, and fabrication information
• Ensure designs comply with SANS 10162, AISC, Eurocode 3
• Review shop drawings and RFIs from fabricators and contractors
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other disciplines in a virtual environment
• Mentor junior structural engineers
• Conduct site visits when necessary to gather data
• Stay current with steel technology, fabrication methods, and design best practices
• Optimize designs for constructability and material efficiency
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for structural steel design
• Ensure designs meet safety requirements and client specs
