Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Solar Energy Systems Engineer to join our client’s innovative team from anywhere in South Africa. You will design, implement and optimize solar PV systems for utility-scale and distributed projects while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include system sizing, technical specs, feasibility studies, and remote collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact renewable energy solutions.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the design and engineering of solar PV systems.
• Proficiency in solar design software such as PVSyst, Helioscope, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, grid interconnection standards, and renewable energy policies in South Africa.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Experience with energy storage systems (e.g., batteries) and their integration with solar PV is highly desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Design and engineer robust solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including site assessments, system sizing, component selection, and layout design.
• Develop detailed technical specifications, electrical schematics, and performance simulations for solar energy projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical due diligence for potential solar installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing solar energy systems, addressing performance issues and system failures remotely.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, procurement teams, and installation partners to ensure successful project execution and commissioning.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in solar technology, energy storage, and grid integration to recommend innovative solutions.
