Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Systems Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize solar PV and other renewable energy systems across South Africa, with fully remote work from anywhere in SA, including Mossel Bay in the Western Cape. You will perform energy yield assessments, develop system designs, and ensure technical viability and efficiency for projects.
The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field, hands-on solar PV design experience, and proficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in design and engineering of solar PV systems.
- Proficiency with solar design software (PVsyst, Helioscope, SAM).
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, power electronics and energy storage systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer solar PV systems, including component selection and sizing.
- Conduct detailed site assessments and feasibility studies.
- Perform energy yield simulations and financial modeling.
- Develop technical specifications and documentation for installations.
- Ensure designs comply with SA standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with sales, project management and installation teams.
