Placements24 seeks a Remote Solar PV System Designer to design end-to-end PV systems for residential, commercial and industrial clients nationwide. You will size systems, select components, and prepare electrical schematics while ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

The role involves creating layout plans, wiring diagrams and BOMs, collaborating with sales, engineering and installation teams, and staying current with solar tech trends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience designing solar PV systems for residential, commercial or industrial projects.
• Proficiency with solar design software such as PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD or similar.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, solar technologies, inverters, batteries and grid-tied systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer solar PV systems including sizing, components, and electrical schematics.
• Create detailed layout plans, wiring diagrams and performance simulations for PV installations.
• Ensure designs comply with electrical codes, local regulations, and client requirements.
• Conduct site assessments using data and satellite imagery to inform designs.
• Generate comprehensive BOMs for proposed systems.
• Provide technical support to sales during proposals.
• Collaborate with engineering and installation teams to ensure project execution.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of solar PV technologies and best practices.
• Contribute to process and documentation improvements.
