Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Solar PV Design Engineer to join their expanding team, supporting projects nationwide from a remote-first perspective. You will conceptualize and design efficient PV solar energy systems for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications, performing energy yield analyses and ensuring compliance with standards.

The ideal candidate has a passion for renewable energy, strong technical design skills, and thrives in a geographically dispersed team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Min 4 years designing PV systems.
• Proficient in PV design software: PVSyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope.
• Strong knowledge of PV modules, inverters, mounting systems and BOS.
• Familiar with electrical codes and permitting for solar installations.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs and schematics for PV systems.
• Model energy production and yield analyses.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and client specs.
• Prepare technical docs: single-line diagrams, BOM.
• Collaborate with PMs, install teams, and other disciplines.
• Conduct design reviews and provide project support.
