Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly capable Remote Solar Energy Project Manager to lead large-scale solar initiatives from anywhere in South Africa. You will plan, execute, and deliver projects with remote teams, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project management, including solar energy, and strong experience with collaboration tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in solar or renewable energy.
• Experience managing remote projects using collaboration tools (MS Teams, Slack, Asana, Jira).
• Strong knowledge of solar PV technology, system design and installation processes.
• Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and resources.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full lifecycle of solar energy projects in a remote setting.
• Develop detailed project plans including scope, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders using digital tools.
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Monitor progress with KPIs and provide status reports to leadership.
• Foster communication among geographically dispersed teams.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
