Placements24 is seeking a proactive Solar PV Project Developer to join a fully remote team. The role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and securing new solar PV projects in the Western Cape and beyond, including site assessment, land rights, and permitting.

You will collaborate with engineering, finance, and legal teams, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to sustainability goals by expanding the solar portfolio from a remote location.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of renewable energy project development experience, with a focus on solar PV.
• Proven track record of identifying and advancing development-stage projects.
• Knowledge of solar technology, site assessment, permitting, and PPAs.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work autonomously in a fully remote setting.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and entrepreneurial Solar PV Project Developer to join their fully remote team. This role is critical for identifying, evaluating, and securing new solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in the Western Cape and beyond. You will be responsible for site assessment, preliminary design, securing land rights, and initiating the permitting process. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sites for solar PV development, assessing resource availability, grid connectivity, and zoning regulations.

• Lead negotiations for land leases, option agreements, and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
• Initiate and manage the early-stage permitting and environmental review process for new projects.
• Develop strong relationships with landowners, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
• Collaborate remotely with internal engineering, finance, and legal teams to advance projects through the development pipeline.

Requirements
