Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecoms Network Engineer to join our distributed team and contribute to strategic development of the network infrastructure. This fully remote role covers South Africa and beyond, focusing on designing, implementing, and optimizing high‑performance networks.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in telecoms networking, strong routing (BGP/OSPF), MPLS, firewall management, and hands‑on experience with Python and Ansible for automation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in telecoms networking and network design.
• Strong routing/switching, security, and incident handling skills.
• CCIE or equivalent certification is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable telecoms networks across environments.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network incidents.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Optimize performance via configuration tuning and capacity planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
