Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a highly skilled Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to design, implement, and manage scalable network systems from a home office, ensuring robust, secure connectivity for a globally distributed business.

You will optimize routing, firewall, VPN deployments, and monitoring, maintain comprehensive documentation, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan upgrades and new capabilities in a fast‑paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in network infrastructure design, implementation and management.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs and security principles.
• Experience with cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) desirable.
• Strong remote collaboration and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure high availability.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including IDS/IPS.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan upgrades and expansions.
• Stay updated with emerging network technologies and recommend improvements.
